ISA NOMINEE SPOTLIGHT: RAGGED ISLE

As we count down to the 3rd Annual Indie Soap Awards on Feb. 21, we will feature the shows nominated for Best Web Series, Comedy and Drama.

Up next is Best Web Series (Drama) nominee, RAGGED ISLE, which premiered in 2011 as the story of Vicki Burke, who accepted a job as a newspaper photographer on a remote island off the coast of Maine. And this is the real Maine by the way, not a Hollywood recreation. The show picked up seven ISA nominations and is also up for the Fan's Choice Award.

From the direction to cinematography to the true ensemble cast, RAGGED ISLE is a modern day TWIN PEAKS meets DARK SHADOWS meets THE X-FILES.

We reviewed the show during its initial first season run: "RAGGED ISLE has the courage of it's convictions (it's odd and proud). So we grant you, it's not for everyone. But if you make it to the end of the first webisode, it's for you, and you're in for an online adventure that really shouldn't be so fun, given that it is so, so unnerving (and scary!)"

Watching the entire first season back recently, it struck us what a masterpiece of an indie series this was. We highly recommend you check it out as the first season plays again at The SFN on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m ET.
