1952: On Young Widder Brown, after leaving the Tea Room in a black rage, Dr. Anthony Loring drove out to the farm of Uncle Josh for some comforting advice.
1953: On Love of Life, Vanessa Dale (Peggy McCay) attempted to help her nephew, Beanie (Dennis Parnell), but her efforts nearly backfired.
1967: On Days of our Lives, Susan Hunter Martin (Denise Alexander) shot her husband, David Martin (Clive Clerk).
1967: On Dark Shadows, Barnabas (Jonathan Frid) took Maggie upstairs and tried to convince her that she was the reincarnation of his long lost love, Josette. Giving her Josette's music box and wedding dress, Barnabas promised her eternal life.
1978: On One Life to Live, Jenny (Katherine Glass) returned from her retreat and laid down the law to Brad (Jameson Parker). Elsewhere, there was a shootout at the Llanview airport as Bonnie (Kim Zimmer) and Herman (Edmund Genest) made their move on Paul (Tom Fuccello). The character of Irene Manning Clayton, played by Kate McKeown, appeared for the first time in this episode.

1981: On Days of our Lives, Doug (Bill Hayes) and Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) were married again.
1984: On Guiding Light, Nola (Lisa Brown) had a "Wizard of Oz" fantasy in which she sought help from the Wizard to find a name for her baby.
1985: On Santa Barbara, the guests at Cruz (A Martinez) and Eden's (Marcy Walker) interrupted wedding had to evacuate the Capwell Hotel due to the fire.
1986: On Days of our Lives, Gloria Loring (Liz) and Carl Anderson sang "Friends and Lovers" (Shane & Kim's song). The second part of the clip below is of the following episode where Liz sang one of Bo & Hope's songs, "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love."
1990: On All My Children, Erica (Susan Lucci) and Travis (Larkin Malloy) enjoyed their wedding night.
1996: CBS aired a special primetime episode of The Young and the Restless before the 23rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, building to the "Who Shot Victor Newman?" story. In the stellar scene below, Jill (Jess Walton) had a war of words with Victor (Eric Braeden) over his meddling in her ensuing divorce and custody battle over Billy with John Abbott. Jill, of course, would go on to become a prime suspect in the attempt on Victor's life.

1996: At the 23rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, winners included General Hospital (Drama Series), Charles Keating (Lead Actor), Erika Slezak (Lead Actress), Jerry verDorn (Supporting Actor), Anna Holbrook (Supporting Actress), Kevin Mambo (Younger Actor) and Kimberly McCullough (Younger Actress).
In in clip below, General Hospital executive producer Wendy Riche started her acceptance speech by saying, "We've had a year of a lot of joy, and we've had a year of a lot of loss. Our bless Lee Mathis, Rosalind Cash and, on Sunday, we lost John Beradino. John left us with a legacy of determination, a purity of spirit, and love for this genre. So as I thank the people who have made this happen for us, I want everybody to know, and Johnny, wherever you are, a slugger to the end, this one is for you,"
1998: On Another World, Jake (Tom Eplin) was devastated when he heard Marley say in her delirium that Vicky slept with Shane.
2004: Actor Richard Biggs died at age 44. He soap roles include Marcus Hunter on Days of our Lives and Clayton Boudreau on Guiding Light.
