News Round-up

Disney's net income falls 32%
On the TV front, cable revenues managed a 2% gain but operating income declined 12%. The company cited several drags on earnings in the media networks division, including higher fees to carry NFL games on ESPN, lower ratings and correspondingly lower ad revenue at ABC.

INTERVIEW: ATWT's Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann
On the unspoiled Nuke sex, Silbermann (Noah) told The Advocate: "I really liked the way the show handled it by not really having it with bells and whistles and fanfare."

Hansis (Luke) added: "Also, it was exciting for the fans not to have any 'spoilers' on it, because I know there was a big fan group waiting for this moment. In this day and age, to keep that a secret is pretty cool. I think the fans enjoyed being surprised and shocked."

The great TV disaster?
"Some Americans might lose their signal — eventually — but the real tragedy is that more of us don’t turn off the sets from time to time."

OLTL film to appear in prestigious New York festival
It has been announced by the Seaside Heights Office of Public Relations that both its films: "ONE LIFE TO LIVE Films in Seaside Heights April 2008" and the combination film "Seaside Heights 1960: The Town That Fun Built"/1970's French Canadian tourism video" have been accepted into the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. The festival will be held March 19-26, 2009 in New York City.

90210 hits its stride, and it was so worth the wait
Stephanie Lysaght of the Los Angeles Times reviews last night's episode guest starring FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS' Aimee Teegarden: "That's why we stuck with this show, through the narc arc, and Harry's life lessons, and the Annie Wilson toothbrushing scenes. Tonight, it was all worth it, because the relationships were believable, the suspense was beyond, and heck, even the hair was better than usual."

FNL's Palicki in film with Josh Brolin
Adrianne Palicki (Tyra, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS) will appear in a movie with Josh Brolin called Women in Trouble that will show at the upcoming South by Southwest festival in Austin.

Michael Ausiello spoilers an upcoming DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES storyline
"Orson's darker underbelly will rear its ugly head again. 'He starts to steal things,' reveals the klepto's portrayer, Kyle MacLachlan. 'It isn't a burglar thing. He starts taking things that don’t belong to him, often from his friends and neighbors. I don't know where that is eventually going to go, but it's going to be delicious.'"

ARMY WIVES casting news
The show is adding two new characters, both of them African American. Viola is described as vivacious, maternal and a new positive force for the wives. Terrence, meanwhile, is an attractive community organizer in his 40s who specializes in mental health issues. EDITOR'S NOTE: Terrence is likely the character former GH and ATWT star Real Andrews is auditioning for.

INTERVIEW: DAYS' Sandra Robinson (Charlotte)
Robinson appeared on "Stardish Radio" last night.
