Evening News

Beth Ehlers: Hello, ALL MY CHILDREN!
"I can't wait to start working!" Beth told SOAPnet.com. "I haven't acted in a few weeks. I need to act!"

She will be playing Taylor McBride, a soldier just returned from a tour of duty in Iraq. She first airs August 5.

"Taylor is in town to give a Bronze Medal to Frankie [also a vet, played by Cornelius Smith, Jr.] She's biding her time until her next tour. She's lifetime military ... someone that likes rules and boundaries. [She looks at things as] This is right and this is wrong."

Sara A. Bibel's Emmy Picks
"I’ve got to rant about the voting process this year. A lot of the nominees are real head scratchers. Actors who had outstanding years were overlooked while some who are at best mediocre up for the statue. This isn’t a new phenomenon. Almost every year there’s at least one Emmy winner that causes viewers at home to start cursing at the TV screen. The nominees are heavily skewed in favor of CBS, with ABC virtually shut out in the acting categories. Since ABC is broadcasting the show, that should be interesting."

Ex-B&Ber Mario Lopez named People's Hottest Bachelor
From People magazine: We first met People's Hottest Bachelor when he played good-guy A.C. Slater on Saved by the Bell. He's since moved on to Dancing with the Stars and is now co-host of Extra's weekend edition and star of Broadway's A Chorus Line. Still, Lopez, 34 – here recreating Mark Wahlberg's famous "Marky Mark" pose – says he wasn't always so fit: "I was a fat, fat baby. I looked like a sumo wrestler. My mom had to pull the fat folds apart when she bathed me!" The GOSSIP guys also made the list.

David Canary will not attend the Daytime Emmys
Soap Opera Digest is reporting he will attend his daughter Katy's college graduation instead.

Ku6.com Accused Of Broadcasting Unauthorized Soap Opera
China Sanhuan Audio and Video Press has filed a lawsuit against Ku6.com, one of the major online video service providers in China, at Beijing Haidian District Court, accusing the Ku6.com of offering "Shi Bing Tu Ji", a popular Chinese TV soap opera without its authorization and asking for Ku6.com to pay it CNY300,000 in compensation.

Snark's Daytime Emmy Predictions
"So...that time is almost upon us again. Daytime Emmy fever, do you have it? Er, me neither. Every year, it seems that the Emmys institute a host of new reforms designed to make the nominating process less laugh-worthy...and every year the nominations become a bigger joke."
