Ratings: 'General Hospital' Hits Another Low, Down Whopping 40% Year-Over-Year in Women 18-49

The Live + Same Day daytime ratings are in for the week of August 17-21, 2015. General Hospital hit another new all-time low in Women 18-49 viewers with only 365,000 watching.

The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful and Days of our Lives are all up in Total Viewers year-over-year.

Below is a breakdown of the daytime soap opera Nielsen ratings by category:

1. The Young and the Restless 4,761,000 (-62,000/+273,000)
2. The Bold and the Beautiful 3,627,000 (-188,000/+129,000)

* New all-time low for GH, who has lost 40% of the show's Women 18-49 viewers year-over-year.

    1. I think the Nielsen ratings are rigged in favor of Y&R.

  2. I know that the Nielsen only tracks viewers that advertisers are interested in, and the majority of the ads are directed towards women because that is who is mostly watching traditionally. Really began to wonder when looking at the 25-54 numbers, that is the biggest audience for all the soaps, what the demographics are for men? I remember being a teen, and when friends found out I watched a soap would exclaim that it was for "grandma's", but now that more men admit to watching soaps (and btw the same time that they called me grandma they sat and watched) I'm curious if younger or older males watch soaps? I'm guessing that the age range of 25-54 would probably be the highest among males as well.
