On this date in...

1952: THE TODAY SHOW debuted in NBC. NBC's first soap opera, THESE ARE MY CHILDREN, had debuted three years earlier.

1958: On THE EDGE OF NIGHT, Mike wanted to investigate McGinnis.

1979: DALLAS aired for the last time in its Sunday at 10 p.m. ET time slot. It would move to Sundays and eventually settle in on Friday nights where it was known best. Sue Ellen moved in with her mother and sister Kristin after seeing J.R. with another woman.

1985: On GUIDING LIGHT, Beth and Lujack were happier than ever. Now that she could see again, she claimed she always knew he was "Lenny".



2007: Actress Darlene Conley died at age 72. She was best known to soap fans for her roles as Sally Spectra on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL and Rose DeVille on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS.
