Michael Ausiello is reporting that GUIDING LIGHT alum Cynthia Watros is close to a deal to play Lily's mom, CeCe, in the new GOSSIP GIRL spin-off, set in the 80s. Andrew McCarthy was just hired as the dad to Brittany Snow's Lily so the cast is rounding out nicely.
Ryan Hansen is also rumored to be cast as Owen's (Shiloh Fernandez) pal, Shep, who's crushing (futilely) on Krysten Ritter's Carol.
I loved her on GL.
