POLL: Dark Shadows Movie Is Here, But What Other Former Daytime Soap Would Make A Great Film?

We Love Soaps is calling 2012 "The Year of the Soap" and one of the reasons is the return of classic soaps whether it's primetime's DALLAS in a new version on TNT or daytime's AS THE WORLD TURNS and GUIDING LIGHT on DVD. No classic daytime soap opera has had more iterations that DARK SHADOWS. With films, a primetime remake, comics, audio series and numerous DVDs, DARK SHADOWS mania has never died down since the show left ABC Daytime in 1971. And now the Dark Shadows film is here, premiering in theaters on May 11. That made us wonder what other classic daytime soap operas that have now departed television might be great on a big movie screen.
