NEWS ROUNDUP: AMC Finale Sept. 26 in Dallas, Temp Maxie on GH, Amber Riley

Day behind Dallas will air final ALL MY CHILDREN episode on Sept. 26
That's according to WFAA's Shelly Slater.

ALL MY CHILDREN finale viewing party at Sidetrack Sept. 23
The event will benefit Season of Concern, the Chicagoland theatre community's fundraising effort in the fight against AIDS.

Co-Hosted by Jason Spitzer and ABC 7 Chicago's WINDY CITY LIVE's Val Warner, scheduled to attend are Chrishell Stause (Amanda Martin), Terri Ivens (ex-Simone Torres), Jeffrey Carlson (ex-Zarf/Zoey), Brian Gaskill (ex-Bobby Warner), Matt Borlenghi (ex-Brian Bodine) and Chris Bruno (ex-Michael Delaney).

Said the paper: "Only four soaps remain — down from 20 in the 1970s — and there didn't seem much point in continuing the feature. After all, if the networks couldn't draw enough viewership for the programs, then it makes sense the followers of the week's recaps had dwindled. I guess so because we haven't heard a word from readers who've missed it."

GENERAL HOSPITAL temporarily recasts Maxie
Kirsten Storms (Maxie) is out temporarily at GH and has been replaced. A casting call went out last week for a "25ish, sexy, hip, quirky, has vitality, charisma and personality. Strongly prefer blonde. ****1-2 month recurring role." A show spokesperson says, "Due to illness of Kirsten Storms, the role of Maxie Jones will be temporarily recast by Jen Lilley with a first airdate of September 28. The cast and crew of General Hospital wish Kirsten a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming her back to the set soon."
