Kelly Thiebaud, who has played Britt Westbourne on General Hospital for the past two years, has chosen not to renew her contract with the ABC soap opera.
Thiebaud will remain with the show on a recurring basis. The arrangement may be short-lived, as the actress is reportedly eager to pursue other roles.
Prior to GH, Thiebaud's TV credits included The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Days of our Lives, Castle and Chuck. She has appeared in numerous films including Grace Unplugged, Healing the Stupid, Raze, Cameraman and Found.
UPDATE:
Marc Anthony Samuel (Felix) and John J. York (Mac) are also now recurring with the show.
"Hey fans, thanks for the support. GH is just a small part of a great and ongoing journey. Onward and upward!" Samuel tweeted. "To be clear guys, I'm recurring. Not on contract though."
I'm rarely critical of GH, but this stinks. I know that recurring doesn't mean fired, but Marc Anthony is too good to let slip away. Frankly, I find the minimal inclusion of the three characters to be lackadaisical at best, even sloppy sometimes. Lucas and Brad are both legacy characters but little has been done to capitalize on that. There should be a strong same sex romance happening with the typical soapy obstacles, not jokey one-off scenes about 'The Golden Girls' and three ways, to make us really care about these characters. Hoping that Carlivati and company can get this straightened out, so to speak!
ReplyDeleteYou make a good point about the Brad/Lucas relationship but I do enjoy the one-off jokes.
