Nurses Ball 2014: Dr. Liesl Obrecht Sings "Always On My Mind"

General Hospital's Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) returned to the Nurses Ball stage on Tuesday to sing "Always on My Mind," which she dedicated to her children, Britt and Nathan. Watch below:

  1. My favorite Elvis song performed by the amazing Kathleen Gati! So well done, but not sure that giving Obrecht two numbers was a great idea given the number of fans (and soap editors) who don't like the character. Let them eat cake!

  2. ^^ I think most feel that Kathleen Gati is an amazing talent but Liesl Olbrecht is cartoonish and overexposed. I mean, she kidnapped Robin, nearly killed Robert and Duke, impersonated Anna, freed Faison from prison, stole Lulu/Dante's embyros, kidnapped a baby by knife-point, shot one her nurses (whom she was holding hostage at the time) and I am sure other crimes I can't recall! All committed in the past 18 months! At best, characters like Dr. O. and Heather Webber (the Carvialti version) should be featured sparingly_ not prominently. Now, Dr. O. has been written as GH's chief of staff and multiple family members.

Where are the Hardys, Webbers and Quartermaines? Where's the heart the show used to have? I tuned out after the first two days of the Nurses' Ball because, aside from Lucy's opening speech, it lacked heart, sentiment AND an attention to HIV/AIDS.

As much as I love Kathleen Gati, the writing for Dr. Olbrecht is the best example of what's wrong with GH.
