Wednesday Night Ratings: ARROW UP, NASHVILLE Steady, REVOLUTION Down

The Wednesday, October 16 fast national Nielsen ratings are in. Check out a roundup of reports below.

From The CW:
Last night's ARROW was up in total viewers and all key demos from last week's season premiere, rising 22% in A18-49 (1.1/3), up 13% in A18-34 (0.9/3), gaining 13% in W18-34 (0.9/3) and increasing 10% in total viewers (3.02M).

It was ARROW's most watched episode since 4/24, its best A18-49 rating since 2/13, its best A18-34 rating since 5/1, its best W18-34 rating since 1/16 and its best W18-49 rating (1.1/3) since 12/5/12.

THE TOMORROW PEOPLE rose week to week in younger demos, gaining 20% in A18-34 (0.6/2), up 20% in W18-34 (0.6/2), and up 17% in M18-34 (0.7/2).

Last week's season premiere of ARROW saw sizable increases in Live + 3 Day delayed viewing versus Live + Same Day ratings. In total viewers, ARROW saw a 34% gain over L+SD viewing, gaining nearly a million viewers (2.73M vs 3.68M). In adults 18-49, ARROW grew 41% (0.93 vs. 1.3), and in adults 18-34 it increased 27% (0.85 vs. 1.08).

The delayed viewing was up considerably from last season's premiere, when ARROW gained just 16% in total viewers when L+3 viewing was added, and gained 21% in A18-49 and 24% in A18-34.

THE TOMORROW PEOPLE also rose considerably in L+3 viewing, rising 27% in total viewers compared to L+SD (2.31M vs 2.96M), up 50% in A18-34 (0.54 vs 0.81) and gaining 34% in A18-49 (0.85 vs. 1.15).

From CBS:
CRIMINAL MINDS and CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION posted week-to-week growth in key demographics, SURVIVOR: BLOOD vs. WATER swept its time period and CBS was up versus last Wednesday, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Oct. 16.

SURVIVOR: BLOOD vs. WATER was first in viewers (9.89m), adults 25-54 (3.4/09) and adults 18-49 (2.5/07) at 8:00 PM. Compared to last week, SURVIVOR was even in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 and added +290,000 viewers (from 9.60m, +3%).

At 9:00 PM, CRIMINAL MINDS was first in viewers (10.95m) and second in both adults 25-54 (3.5/08) and adults 18-49 (2.7/07). Compared to last week, CRIMINAL MINDS was up +3% in adults 25-54 (from 3.4/08) and +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.6/07). If ratings hold, CRIMINAL MINDS was the night's most-watched program.

At 10:00 PM, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGTION was first in viewers (9.43m) and adults 25-54 (2.7/07), and was second behind FOX's baseball in adults 18-49 (2.0/06). Compared to last week, CSI was up +4% in adults 25-54 (from 2.6/07), +5% in adults 18-49 (from 1.9/05) and added +610,000 viewers (from 8.82m, +7%).

For the night, CBS was first in viewers (10.09m), adults 25-54 (3.2/08) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (2.4/07, with both ABC and FOX's tentative ratings). Compared to last week, CBS was up +3% in both viewers and adults 25-54 and +4% in adults 18-49.

From ABC:
ABC Wednesday Prime (8-11pm - 7.5 million and 2.4/7 in AD18-49): Up against Fox's MLB playoff game (American League Championship Series), ABC ranked #1 on Wednesday in Adults 18-49 for the 4th straight week, tying Fox and CBS and leading NBC by 1 full rating point (1.4/4). ABC aired the Top 2 TV shows of the night with Modern Family and Toy Story of Terror! ABC is delivering its most competitive Wednesday start to a season in 6 years - since 2007-08.

Toy Story OF TERROR! (8-8:30pm - 10.3 million and 3.0/9 in AD18-49): At 8pm, ABC's premiere of Toy Story OF TERROR! opened at #1 among Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, giving ABC its best performance in the time period in nearly 2 years - since 11/09/11. In addition, it was the night's dominant #1 show with Kids 2-11 (5.7/19) posting the Net's highest rating in the half hour in almost 6 years - 11/28/07. Among viewers and young adults, Toy Story OF TERROR! stands as broadcast TV's highest-rated animated special since November 2011 and ABC's top animated special since December 2009 - since 11/29/11 and 12/08/09.

Back in the Game (8:30-9pm - 6.2 million and 1.8/5 in AD18-49): In the 8:30pm half-hour, ABC's Back in the Game held even week to week in Adults 18-49, beating NBC's Revolution in the time period by 29% (1.4/4). The new ABC comedy was up week to week in other key demos, posting a best-since-debut number with Adults 18-34, while hitting series highs with Women 18-34 and Teens 12-17 and Kids 2-11.

Modern Family (9-9:30pm - 10.8 million and 4.0/11 in AD18-49): For the 4th consecutive week this season, ABC's Modern Family was Wednesday's dominant #1 TV show among Adults 18-49. Modern Family was up week to week in Total Viewers (+2%) Adults 18-49 (+3%).

Super Fun Night (9:30-10pm - 6.0 million and 2.1/6 in AD18-49): ABC's Super Fun Night was the #2 series in 9:30pm half among Adults 18-49, beating the final half-hour of NBC's L&O: SVU by 11% (1.9/5). In addition, the freshman comedy ranked #2 in the half-hour with key Women (W18-34/W18-49) and was the #1 broadcast program with Teens 12-17.

Nashville (10-11pm - 5.8 million and 1.7/5 in AD18-49): At 10pm, ABC's Nashville was up 6% week to week in Adults 18-49, beating NBC's Ironside by a best-yet 55% (1.7/5 vs. 1.1/3). In addition for the 3rd week in a row, Nashville beat out its broadcast competition in the hour with Women 18-34.
