  1. They may have been over used but I liked that they could swear.

  2. What fans have spoken? It didn't bother me.

  3. Didn't TOLN promote the swearing (along with more explicit love scenes, which 1. have been few and far between, and 2. are probably next in line to be cut) as "not your grandmother's soap"? So much for any evolution from this genre.

  4. And what exactly are they hoping this lame change will accomplish? Help attract more prudish viewers? I don't think so.

  5. TOLN should have just done it & not bothered announcing it

  6. I'm with the post above, if they were going to make the change, just do it subtlety without making an announcement. It kind of makes the shows seem lame to some fans and a lot of outsiders.

And Marc's point is a good one, what were they expecting to accomplish? More former viewers tuning in?

I'm hearing Prospect Park's decision to cut the swearing from the new versions of All My Kids and One Life could be related to possible syndication issues. If they ever want re-runs of the shows to air on broadcast, they can't have Angie and Jesse saying Bull Sugar!

  8. Update: Viewers who have broken strands of pearls by clutching too hard can bring them to any Zale's store for free repair by using code "TOLN."

  9. It has always seemed like their ultimate goal to get the shows on TV in some form so it makes sense to cut the swearing. That just doesn't make sense with how they were so upfront about it at first and now made an issue of it again by announcing this change. It could have all come and went quietly without as many people noticing.
