The Univision Network announced today that it will close the July 2012 sweep period as the No. 1 network among Adults 18-34 and the No. 2 network, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC and the CW, among Adults 18-49 in primetime. Univision also finished as the No. 1 network on Friday nights for the eighth consecutive July sweep among Adults 18-34 and for the fifth consecutive July sweep among Adults 18-49.
With an average audience of 3.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.7 million Adults 18-49 and 922,000 Adults 18-34 in primetime, Univision has out-delivered at least one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and the CW) on every night of the July 2012 sweep thus far among both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49.
Whereas ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and the CW, on average, are reporting audience declines of -10%, Univision is generating slight audience gains (+1%) among Adults 18-34 in comparison to the same nights during last year’s July sweep period.
With a median age of 38 years old, Univision delivers the youngest viewers during broadcast primetime than the English-language broadcast networks: ABC (53 years old), CBS (60 years old), NBC (54 years old), FOX (45 years old) and the CW (42 years old).
ADDITIONAL NETWORK HIGHLIGHTS:
Univision’s primetime novelas, ABISMO DE PASION (Abyss of Passion) and LA QUE NO PODIA AMAR (The One Who Couldn’t Love) delivered more Adult 18-34 and Adult 18-49 viewers than many of the regularly-scheduled primetime programs on broadcast television including:
* ABC’s DUETS, FINAL WITNESS, THE GLASS HOUSE, NY MED and ROOKIE BLUE
* CBS’ DOGS IN THE CITY
* NBC’s FEAR FACTOR, LOVE IN THE WILD and SAVING HOPE
* FOX’s THE CHOICE and TAKE ME OUT
* CW’s BREAKING POINTE, CATALINA and L.A. COMPLEX
