On this date in...1952: Popular CBS Radio soap opera THE GUIDING LIGHT, on the air since 1937, premiered on CBS Television. The show also continued to air on the radio until 1956. Today is the 60th Anniversary of GL's debut on TV.

2005: Four-time Emmy winning GENERAL HOSPITAL producer Carol Scott died of cancer at the age of 56.
