Garry Walberg Dead at 90

Character actor Garry Walberg died March 27 in Northridge of chronic pulmonary obstructive disease and congestive heart failure. He was 90.

Walberg played 'Sgt. Edward Goddard' on the 1960s primetime soap PEYTON PLACE.

He was also a series regular as 'Lt. Frank Monahan' during the entire 1976-83 run of QUINCY, M.E.

The character actor had a long career in television that began with an episode of MISTER PEEPERS in 1952. He had a recurring role on as one of Oscar's poker buddies on THE ODD COUPLE. Walberg guested on series including THE TWILIGHT ZONE (he was in the first episode), DR. KILDARE, THE FUGITIVE, LASSIE and MURDER, SHE WROTE.

The actor also appeared occasionally in feature films including Gangster Story, King Kong, and MacArthur.

Walberg was born in Buffalo, N.Y.
