NEWS ROUNDUP: Jack Wagner Explains Called Off Engagement, Alison Sweeney's Balancing Act, GH's Woman In White

Jack Wagner explains his called off engagement with Heather Locklear
According to TMZ, Wagner and Locklear "still love each other very much," but they ditched wedding plans out of consideration for their children.

Wagner explained that coordinating their big day became so all-consuming that they missed out on quality time with their kids. (Locklear has a 13-year-old daughter, Ava, with ex Richie Sambora; Wagner has two sons with first wife Kristina Wagner.)

Further complicating matters? The duo decided against a "blended family," deeming it too disruptive for the kids -- which also meant the actors ran out of time to spend with one another. They announced their engagement in August 2011.

GENERAL HOSPITAL's Nathan Parsons (Ethan) previews the Woman in White
"Alyshia Ochse is phenomenal! She's going to be a lot of fun for the audience to watch. She's a smart, impulsive actress who really challenges me, even though she hasn't even said anything yet! It'll take a while for her to speak. There's been so much tension building with this story. Ethan's been chasing this mystery being — they've been running circles around each other forever — and she is not what he expected."

Alison Sweeney balances life as host, actress, producer and mom
“I have so much going on, I learned early on when I was in school, studying for finals, to focus my attention on what I’m doing and let the future wait for me,” she says. “I can feel overwhelmed at times. But I really try to take it one thing at a time.”

How Celebrities Changed the Fragrance Industry
The marriage between fame and fragrance also goes back decades, to the 1930s, when the fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli designed a curvy perfume bottle modeled after the actress Mae West’s figure. In the 1950s, Givenchy created a scent for film star Audrey Hepburn that was musky and powdery, and in the early 1980s, Dynasty stars Joan Collins and Linda Evans promoted fragrances linked to their primetime soap opera. Elizabeth Taylor’s scent, White Diamonds, has been an Elizabeth Arden top seller since it launched in 1991, grossing more than $1 billion in sales and providing a nice revenue stream for an actress who was no longer spending much time in front of the cameras.
