1958: Elaine S. Carrington, radio writer who created PEPPER YOUNG'S FAMILY and other daytime dramas, died at New York Hospital. She was 66.

1964: ANOTHER WORLD debuted on NBC in the 3 p.m. time slot. Original characters were Liz, Bill, Jim, Mary, Pat, Alice, Russ, Janet, Granny Matthews; Missy Palmer; and Ken and Tom Baxter.
