SOAPnet doesn’t seem to have a lot in common with a pre-K net, but some of its fans are likely moms to young children. It’s also a bit of a different bag in that it was created before DVRs really took off so that soap fans could catch up on their favorite shows.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I keep hearing this DVR bit repeated. Before DVRs soap fans used their VCRs. It's not like fans never recorded the shows before.

Christian character joining GLEE
"I'm adding a Christian character," says Ryan Murphy. "We've taken a couple jabs at the right wing this year, so what I want to do with this character is have someone who Christian kids and parents can recognize and say, 'Oh, look—I'm represented there, too!' If we're trying to form a world of inclusiveness, we've got to include that point of view as well."

  2. Funny! The Disney spin has mentioned the same thing - DVR use makes SOAPnet irrelevant. It doesn't explain why they refused to invest in new soaps or more classic soaps.
