Susan Lucci Honored By The NYSPCC

The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC), the world's first child protection agency, honored Emmy award-winning ALL MY CHILDREN actress Susan Lucci and Avon Products Inc. Chairman and CEO Andrea Jung at its 2009 Gala on Monday night at 583 Park in Manhattan.

"Susan Lucci is dedicated to improving the lives of children not only in the U.S., but also in Africa. She has brought much needed attention to the neglect and abuse many children face on a daily basis. Andrea Jung has also shown herself to be a committed leader in promoting the welfare of children through the work of the Avon Foundation. Since 2008, the Avon Foundation has contributed millions of dollars to organizations that help children who are affected by domestic violence. It gives us great pleasure to honor both of these exceptional advocates at this year's Gala," said David Stack, President of The NYSPCC.

Deborah Norville was the Gala's emcee.

Throughout its 134 year history, The NYSPCC has sought, through the development of new and innovative programs, to meet the urgent needs of New York City's most vulnerable children. It is with this same spirit of innovation, concern and compassion that The NYSPCC continually strives to fulfill its mission of protecting children and strengthening families through mental health, legal and educational services.
