News Round-up: VENICE, Zimmer, Martinez, Spears

VENICE mentioned in Vanity Fair
"Bushnell’s broads aren’t the only women making Webisode waves lately. When GUIDING LIGHT, the longest-running soap in history (it first broadcast on NBC radio in 1937), went off the air last month, two of the actresses spun their lesbian romance into an independent Web series (VENICE)."

INTERVIEW: GL's Kim Zimmer (Reva)
"I would love to be able to book three months here and six months there and do all the soaps. I don’t want to sign another contract unless it’s something fabulous. I mean, how do you top Reva? [laughs] It’s a good thing GL’s going off the air because what’s left for me to do? I’ve played Reva as a fiftysomething pregnant woman with cancer. I’ve played her as a psychic and a royal princess. She’s been just about everything but Jesus Christ."

B&B's Aaron D. Spears is a dad, again
B&B newcomer Aaron D. Spears (Justin) and his wife Estella are the proud parents of a healthy baby boy, who was born on September 9 and has yet to be named. The couple already has four daughters.

AMC's J.R. Martinez on 9/11
"It was really personal for me. It's personal for everybody because we all witnessed that day, whether you were in New York or saw it on TV, but for me, that was one of the major reasons I joined the military. I was injured because of what happened on that day and my life completely changed. So it was very personal to get the opportunity to be on a national TV show to talk about that day."

Entertainment stocks rally, analysts upgrade
The week is ending on a high note for entertainment stocks, with at least two prominent industry analysts publishing bullish reports. Goldman Sachs analyst Mark Wienkes on Thursday raised his view on the entertainment sector from "neutral" to "attractive." And Friday morning Barclays Capital analyst Anthony DiClemente published a ranking of his favorite industry stocks that also predicted more upside ahead. Both argued that despite a rally since March, entertainment stocks remain affordable, and they cited an expected advertising recovery now that the recession seems to be at or near its end.

  1. Kim Zimmer needs to take her crocodile tears, her tired obsessing over "Bud" and get the hell over it and retire.

Sheesh...I'm sure Kim Zimmer is a nice person, but the writers have made her character into a laughable, science fiction character. The writers...one of the crucial reasons GL was cancelled.

  2. It also didn't help that she pushed for Jeffrey and Reva but then again with the current writers we weren't going to get Reva/Josh anyway besides that writers shouldnt let the actors dictate what they write.
