EVENT: GL's Robert Bogue in AS THE DIAMOND BURNS

On September 16th, GUIDING LIGHT star Robert Bogue will drop his script as he guest stars in the Upright Citizens Brigade's long-running improvised soap opera, AS THE DIAMOND BURNS.

On GUIDING LIGHT Bogue played A.C. Mallet, a troubled cop who fought corruption on the streets and in his heart. Over the years on GUIDING LIGHT, Bogue's Mallet stole money from drug busts, illegally adopted a baby from Bosnia and attempted murder. Bogue's experience with the heightened reality of soap opera makes him especially well-prepared to step on stage and improvise a complete soap opera with AS THE DIAMOND BURNS.

  1. I was in attendance last night to see Robert Bogue and Mandy Bruno take the stage in "As The Diamond Burns" and I have to say it was an incredible show. I have seen this improv group lampoon soaps before and the players in the show have got their soap cliches down and they heighten the drama naturally to hilarious effect. Adding Robert and Mandy into the mix last night was great! Robert looked instantly at ease improvising and it was fun to see him do something completely different from what we are used to. And Mandy got to really go to a really over-the-top soapy place with her delightful improvised soap character. Both of the GL-ers thrilled the audience along with the regular cast of the show. I recommend this show to any soap fan!
