CBS to air repeats between GL and DEAL
To-be-determined repeats will air during the gap between the end of GUIDING LIGHT on Sept. 18 and the Oct. 5 premiere of DEAL.

DEAL will shoot in Vegas in a hotel
The updated version of DEAL will shoot in Las Vegas, and according to Hall, it's not because the crowds there are livelier or more prone to dress in costumes. "The hotel that hosts the show will take care of all the below-the-line costs," he said. Three hotels are in the bidding, but they haven't made an agreement with one yet.

CBS' Poltrack Says Online Video Will Drive Second Revenue Source for Broadcast
Online video distribution is key to broadcasters finally getting a second revenue stream like cable enjoys, and viewer "authentication" is crucial to making it happen, according to David Poltrack, chief research officer, CBS Corp., president, CBS VISION.

Poltrack's detailed and data-driven presentation at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena Aug. 3 underlined reasons why CBS' online video strategy has seemingly had more in common with cable companies than its broadcast network brethren. Simply put: CBS wants to be paid for their content like cable networks are.

Erica Kane Gets Real
On August 20, Erica will go on location to Kenya with her talk show NEW BEGINNINGS to bring attention to the starving children of that nation. She will return a changed woman.

“Erica has always been daytime’s Scarlett O’Hara—it’s why we adore her—and it was fun watching her thrive during the Me Generation,” notes AMC head writer Chuck Pratt. “But now it’s time to get her into the real world.”

Susan Lucci adds, "What I love is that this storyline carries on the legacy of [AMC creator] Agnes Nixon, who was famous for bringing big topical issues to daytime drama. It’ll be interesting to see how this changes Erica."

Shemar Moore Hit By Car, Breaks Leg
Former Y&R star Shemar Moore is recovering with a broken his leg after getting hit by a car on Saturday, a rep for the actor confirmed to Access Hollywood. The 39-year-old actor was struck during a bike ride in LA over the weekend. Following the accident, the actor was taken to an LA-area hospital where he was treated for his broken leg.
