News Round-up: Finola Hughes, GL, Plana, NMM

Television production was the only thing cooking Monday at Ferrante restaurant in downtown Stamford. Local writer/director Torry Colvin, founder of 24k Black Films, was serving up the main course -- a TV pilot, titled THE TITANS OF GEFFA, about life on Wall Street, starring Finola Hughes (ex-Anna, GENERAL HOSPITAL) and Hal Ozsan.

NMM picks fall's hottest new shows
While the fall TV season is still a good two months down the road, a New York-based research company, NewMediaMetrics, already has a bead on which new shows are likely to break out in 2009-10.

The NMM team’s research model is derived from methods developed by Jonathan Bowlby, the British behavioralist who in the 1940s developed a methodological approach to quantifying the emotional bond between mothers and children. A cornerstone of sociology and developmental psychology, Bowlby’s attachment theory can also be used in marketing and media applications, as demonstrated by Reisman and Larson’s work.

Lawsuit filed against UGLY BETTY's Plana
Tony Plana's former manager Tracy Quinn just filed suit in L.A. County, which claims ever since he tossed her to the curb in '08, she hasn't been receiving her cut of his UGLY BETTY paycheck -- a deal she claims to have brokered. Tracy is suing Tony for breach of contract to the tune of at least $500,000.
