The launch (on May 21) of original series SOUTHERN BELLES: LOUISVILLE, SOAPnet’s 10-episode original reality series that follows the lives of five sexy and single, modern Southern women living life their way and breaking the rules of southern tradition in the heart of Louisville, Kentucky, became the net’s No. 1 reality series premiere on record in Total Viewers (459,000), Women 18-34 (73,000) and Women 18-49 (205,000).

In fact, among all original series launches on the net, SOUTHERN BELLES: LOUISVILLE stood as SOAPnet’s second-most-watched premiere of all time in all three key demos, behind the debut of GENERAL HOSPITAL spin-off, GENERAL HOSPITAL: NIGHT SHIFT (7/12/07).

• SOUTHERN BELLES: LOUISVILLE generated SOAPnet’s largest audience in Thursday’s 10 o’clock hour in 16 months in Women 18-49 (205,000 – since 1/31/08), and in 6 months in Total Viewers (459,000 – since 11/20/08) and Women 18-34 (73,000 – since 11/13/08).

• SOUTHERN BELLES: LOUISVILLE gained solidly over year-ago time period levels (5/22/08), registering double-digit percent gains of 12% in Total Viewers (459,000 vs. 409,000), of 24% in Women 18-34 (73,000 vs. 59,000) and of 14% in Women 18-49 (205,000 vs. 180,000).

The girls help Julie celebrate her 35th birthday as she faces the harsh reality that her clock is ticking and her job is at a standstill. Meanwhile, Emily is offered a job opportunity that her conservative parents will not be happy about. Then, Hadley regrets telling her Sterling she has strong feelings for him. Next, Shea and her father have already started picking dates for her wedding, even though Shea's boyfriend Jeff hasn't proposed yet. And ironically, Kellie decides to start a matchmaking business even though she has been divorced twice. Premieres tonight (10:00 – 11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on SOAPnet.

  1. Ick, you've got to be kidding. I guess there goes the last of the "Soap" in "Soapnet."

  2. Yep, just great more reality shows instead of soap opera.
