Larry Carpenter Wins Another DGA Award

The Directors Guild of America held their 61st Annual DGA Awards Dinner Saturday night at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The event honored the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television, Documentaries and Commercials for the year 2008.

Presenters included BROTHERS & SISTERS star Rachel Griffiths and former soap stars Marisa Tomei, Blair Underwood and Melissa Leo.

Larry Carpenter of ONE LIFE TO LIFE received his third DGA Award in the Daytime Serials category for Episode #10,281 titled "So You Think You Can Be Shane Morasco's Father?". The other daytime nomiees were William Ludel (GENERAL HOSPITAL - Episode #11,462), Noel Maxam (DAYS OF OUR LIVES - Episode #10,763), Owen Renfroe (GENERAL HOSPITAL - Episode 11,504) and Herb Stein (DAYS OF OUR LIVES - (Episode #10,764). HOUSE actress Lisa Edelstein presented the daytime category. Carpenter also won last year.

Mr. Carpenter's winning Directorial Team included Associate Directors Teresa Anne Cicala, Paul Glass and Tracy Casper Lang; Stage Managers Alan Needleman, Keith Greer and Brendan Higgins; and Production Associates Kevin Brush and Beth Kravitz.

Former ANOTHER WORLD star Don Scardino was nominated for Directing the "Do Over" episode of 30 ROCK but lost to another director on that show, Paul Feig.
