ABC Family Adds MY ALIBI Online

ABC Family has snagged a new teen-oriented Web series to complement its TV hit THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER.

On Feb. 5, the cable network began offering episodes of the original short-form teen drama MY ALIBI on ABCFamily.com. MY ALIBI originally debuted last fall on the startup video community site Take180.com, which aims to produce Web series that encourage a high level of audience participation.

Eighteen episodes of MY ALIBI have been produced to date—several of which feature plot points suggested by the Take180 audience. The show depicts a group of five teens who have been accused of committing a school prank. Among the show’s stars are former BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 star Gabrielle Carteris and Zachary Burr Abel of the upcoming ABC Family drama PERFECT 10.

ABC Family executives believe that MY ALIBI makes for a strong fit with the network growing stable of youth-oriented series, which include TEENAGER and GREEK. “The ABC.Family.com community has an incredible appetite for video,” said Vickie Collier, vp, digital media, ABC Family. “We believe My Alibi will appeal to the site’s millennial audience and we’re excited to bring the Web series to our users.”
