HOLLYOAKS star enjoys spin-off role
Actor Gerard McCarthy admits he could soon be in need of a rest because he's among the cast of new spin-off HOLLYOAKS LATER, which airs on E4 next week. Not only does his Hollyoaks character Kris Fisher have an explosive encounter with his mum in Ireland, but he also ends up belting out a song or two.

He spoke to Digital Spy about the spin-off story, saying: "Well, they go home to tell mum that dad's dead, Malachy's HIV positive, and Kris wears women's clothes and sleeps with boys sometimes. We try to break all this to her as softly as we can, but don't really succeed."

Debbie’s new character set to be talk of STREET
Debbie Rush is hoping her new CORONATION STREET character will be one fans love to hate. The Rochdale mother of three made her CORRIE debut on Friday as new character Donna Windass, who looks set to stir things up, along with her troublesome family. Debbie, whose children, Poppy and Tom are in The Sticks band, says she is waiting to see how people take to her character.

"We had lots of really good comments from people saying the family were interesting. So fingers crossed. I’m absolutely thrilled to bits to be in CORONATION STREET, it’s just such a brilliant job to be in."

Jason Priestly: Brenda Walsh’s rumored terminal illness is "awesome"
When asked about the possibility of Brenda contracting a terminal illness on 90210, Priestley told ACCESS HOLLYWOOD, "This is all news to me, but this is fantastic. That is going to be awesome. No they haven't given me anything yet. I don't even know if the episode is written yet, but I love all those rumors. That is juicy stuff."

FOX 411: Agnes on AMC
"...yes, that was indeed the magnificent Agnes Nixon making a guest appearance on her show, ALL MY CHILDREN last week for the soap’s 10,000th episode. The vivacious almost 81 year old also created soaps ONE LIFE TO LIVE and ANOTHER WORLD. No one has ever done it better, although now they do it a lot, lot worse (See GUIDING LIGHT)."

RONN WYNN: LIPSTICK JUNGLE a "bad daytime soap opera at night"
The Nashville City Paper writer opines: "LIPSTICK JUNGLE was bad daytime soap opera at night, its only virtue being the undeniably gorgeous women serving as the show’s centerpiece. But if you’re not going to bother making their stories interesting or even entertaining, then men aren’t going to watch very long, and women are going to be annoyed and alienated."
