News Brief

Soap Dish: A hardy Marty comes back to LIFE
The mystery woman in Ramsey's attic is finally revealed next week on ONE LIFE TO LIVE - it's Marty Saybrooke!

"She went off the cliff, Ramsey found her, and he's been nursing her back to health," explains Susan Haskell, back as Marty after a 10-year absence (another actress later played the part). "She's not in any shape to leave on her own."

Another indie film for OLTL's Fumero
The stars were shining at the SINY Film Festival Thursday night at the College of Staten Island. Celebrities and regular folks attended a screening of Greetings From The Shore, starring Kim Shaw and David Fumero and directed by Greg Chwerchak. Paul Sorvino of Goodfellas movie fame also played a role. Fumero, who also appears in the Indie film Manhattanites, said he and fellow actors Gideon Emery, Ron Geren and Lars Arentz shared a house together in Lavallette and bonded as they "hung out like guys," playing poker and drinking when they weren't hard at work.

Antonio Sabato Jr. joins the GENERAL HOSPITAL
As thrilling as Antonio Sabato Jr. was as Jagger Cates on GENERAL HOSPITAL and Dante Damiano on THE BOLD AND TEH BEAUTIFUL, it hardly measures up to the daredevil feats he will be attempting as one of the competitors on NBC's CELEBRITY CIRCUS, premiering Wednesday, June 11.

"I have been a big fan of Cirque du Soleil for so many years," he explains. "When I met the producers and they told me that it was (going to be) those acts, I was in."

As the author of the 1999 fitness book, "No Excuses: Antonio Sabato Jr. Workout for Life," one might suspect that Sabato's fitness level would make him a natural for attacking such "big top" acts as the high wire, flying trapeze, Chinese poles or aerial silks, but such is not the case.

"It is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life," the 36-year-old father of two admits, "and I have done a lot of hard things, including competing professionally in motor racing, but this is really tough. Everything I have done until now doesn't mean a thing. I am using muscles I have never used. I can't even feel the tips of my fingers, and I am getting calluses."

A baby boom is rumoured to hit HOLLYOAKS after two characters announce they are expecting. Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies) will announce she is pregnant by bad boy Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) just before Zoe (Zoe Lister) says she too may drop a sprog, the Daily Star reports.
