Brianna Brown Joins Marc Cherry's DEVIOUS MAIDS; Cherry Only "Tapped" Nicollette Sheridan

Marc Cherry's new ABC pilot, DEVIOUS MAIDS, revolves around four maids (UGLY BETTY's Ana Ortiz, Judy Reyes, AS THE WORLD TURNS' Roselyn Sanchez and Dania Ramirez) with ambition and dreams of their own while they work for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills.

According to THR.com, GENERAL HOSPITAL's Brianna Brown will play Taylor Slate, the classy and smart second (trophy) wife to Michael Slate, who's insecure as his ex, Marisol, continues to be a factor in his life.

Brown will also appear on an upcoming episode of NBC's AWAKE. Click here for a full list of upcoming soap guest stars in prime time.

Cherry is currently busy fighting the Nicollette Sheridan lawsuit against him and ABC for her "wrongful termination" from DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. Some of controversy has stemmed from her claim that Cherry hit her. He said he wanted the actress to have some physical interaction with her onscreen husband in the scene and acknowledged that during a deposition he testified that he "resorted to demonstration to get my point across." In the scene, Sheridan's character hits her husband with a magazine and tickles him, but doesn't strike his head.

"I tapped her head," Cherry said Monday.

He rejected the idea that he struck Sheridan hard and was upset that people thought he hit a woman.
