1983: All My Children's Tad returned to Pine Valley.
1990: Days of our Lives' Hope "died" in an explosion.
1999: As the World Turns' Jack gave Carly a compass.
2009: The Young and the Restless' Phillip revealed he was gay.

1965: On Another World, Lee Randolph (Gaye Huston) wasn't happy when Dr. Lewis said she could go home at the end of the week.

1966: On The Guiding Light, Leslie Bauer (Lynne Adams) accused her husband, Ed (Robert Gentry), of becoming a "cold blooded cynic" to help soothe his anger of his father's drinking.



1982: Renee Jones taped her first episode as Nikki Wade in Days of our Lives, a part she played until 1983. She left the show in 2012 after many years playing a different role, Lexie Carver.

1983: On All My Children, Tad Martin (Michael E. Knight) returned to Pine Valley and caught up with his mother, Opal (Dorothy Lyman).



1989: At the end of that day's Guiding Light episode, Grant Aleksander (Phillip) did a voice over to go along with the "Christopher Bernau In Memoriam" image displayed before closing credits. Bernau had died on June 14, 1989, at age 49.



1990: On Days of our Lives, Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) and Ernesto Toscano (Eric Mason) vanished, and were presumed dead, following an electrical explosion.



1999: On As the World Turns, at the boathouse, Jack Snyder (Michael Park) gave Carly Tenney (Maura West) a compass so she could always find her way back to him.



2000: Burt Douglas, who played Jim Fisk on Days of our Lives in its first year, died at age 69.

2005: Mark Raffety aired for the final time as Darcy Tyler in Australian soap Neighbours.



2006: Red Buttons, who played Al Baker on Knots Landing, died at age 87.

2009: On The Young and the Restless, a returned-from-the-dead Phillip Chancellor (Thom Bierdz) revealed to his family that he gay.



2013: Glee star Cory Monteith died at age 31.
