1979: General Hospital's Laura and Scotty were married.
1984: Guiding Light's Bert gave Josh a pep talk.
1985: Santa Barbara's Julia smuggled Amy and Brick onto a train.
2006: All My Children's Annie arrived in Pine Valley.

On this date in...

1952: On The Guiding Light, Trudy (Helen Wagner) and Meta (Jone Allison) discussed Meta's plans to leave New York and return to California. At home, Papa Bauer (Theo Goetz) and Bill (Lyle Sudrow) played chess as Bert (Charita Bauer) prepared the baby's bottle. Papa told Bill he spent too much time away from home on business trips. Bill received a telegram from Meta announcing her impending return.



1958: Actor Shawn Campbell was born. He is best known for playing Ricky Donnelly on Love is a Many Splendored Thing (Beverlee McKinsey played his mother at one point), and later Billy Aldrich on The Doctors. He died in 1993 at the age of 34.

1974: Actress Nancy Wickwire died at age 48. She played the third Liz Matthews on Another World (and made a crossover appearance on Somerset as the character). She also played Phyllis Anderson in Days of our Lives, Claire English on As the World Turns and Lila Taylor in Guiding Light.

1975: On Another World, Emma (Tresa Hughes) was impressed when she visited Frame Enterprises.

1979: On General Hospital, Laura Webber (Genie Francis) married Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner).



1984: On Guiding Light, Josh (Robert Newman) was completely fed up with his rehab and Bert (Charita Bauer) gave him her memorable "it takes time" pep talk.



1984: On The Edge of Night, Raven Whitney (Sharon Gabet) assured her husband, Sky (Larkin Malloy), that tonight she was going to set the record straight with her ex, Logan Swift (Tom Tammi).



1985: On Santa Barbara, Julia (Nancy Lee Grahn) smuggled Brick and Amy aboard the train in two trunks, convincing "Jack Lee" (Joel Crothers) that it was her luggage. Later, they attended a costume party where future GH star John Ingle is a guest. Meanwhile, Kelly (Robin Wright) ate poisonous berries.



1986: On Another World, Felicia Gallant (Linda Dano) tried to convince Kathleen McKinnon (Julie Osburn) to believe Cass Winthrop's story that he had been kidnapped and held hostage by Cecile DePoulignac.



1995: On As the World Turns, Lily (Martha Byrne), in a drugged state, tried to get away from Damian (Paolo Seganti) and his family. She told Lucinda (Elizabeth Hubbard) she believed Orlena was out to murder her. Dr. Grodin convinced Lucinda that Lily could not return to the United States in her condition.

1995: Kamar de los Reyes debuted as Antonio Vega on One Life to Live.

1998: On The Young and the Restless, Victoria Newman (Heather Tom) hoped to reveal her pregnancy to Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck), but he told her he was marrying Ashley Abbott before she could.

2002: On Passions, Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald (Lindsay Hartley) "died" on the execution table.



2006: Popular Spanish telenovela Yo Soy Bea premiered. The show, another adaptation on the Ugly Betty theme, ran for more than three years.

2006: Melissa Claire Egan debuted on All My Children as Annie Novak McDermott.



2006: On Days of our Lives, Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) took her husband, Steve (Stephen Nichols), back to the site of their wedding. Evans and Nichols also appeared on Soap Talk that day to discuss their current storyline.

2009: Ronnie Marmo debuted as Ronnie Dimistico on General Hospital. In the episode, Ronnie was at a laundromat with an acquaintance, "Dominic Perelli" aka Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). The two of them discussed infiltrating Sonny Corinthos' organization.
