1972: Search for Tomorrow's Jo and Tony were married.
1977: Days of our Lives' Marlena was locked in a sanitarium.
1997: General Hospital's Brenda was left at the altar.
1998: Y&R's Drucilla surprised Neil and Victoria.

1955: On British radio soap opera The Archers, Grace died in the Brookfield stables.

1972: On Search for Tomorrow, Joanne Tate (Mary Stuart) married Dr. Tony Vincente (Anthony George).

1977: On Days of our Lives, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) was trapped in the sanitarium, mistaken for her twin sister, Samantha.



1986: On Another World, Michael Hudson (Kale Browne) insisted that his daughter, Marley Love (Ellen Wheeler), call off her big wedding to Jake McKinnon (Tom Eplin). They decided eloping was the best thing Jake and Marley could to in order to keep them safe from Reginald Love (John Considine).



1986: On Santa Barbara, Cruz Castillo (A Martinez) had a flashback to a memory of Katie Timmons on the beach.



1988: On Guiding Light, Harley Cooper (Beth Ehlers) and Alan-Michael Spaulding (Carl T. Evans) enjoyed the good life.



1994: NBC sitcom Friends premiered. The show featured continuing story arcs including love triangles and cliffhangers. On the show, Matt LeBlanc's character, Joey, also played a doctor on Days of our Lives.

1997: On General Hospital, Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) was left at the altar during her wedding to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).



1998: On The Young and the Restless, newly-engaged lovebirds Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Victoria (Heather Tom) returned to his place after a dinner date and were shocked to find that Neil's ex-wife, Drucilla (Victoria Rowell), had just landed back in town hoping to surprise him. As Neil wondered, who got the bigger surprise that night?

1995: On Guiding Light, Roger Thorpe (Michael Zaslow) married Dinah Marler.

1999: The West Wing premiered on NBC. Martin Sheen starred as the President.



2000: On As the World Turns, Lily and Rose were revealed to be twins.

2006: Jason Cook aired for the final time as Shawn Douglas Brady in Days of our Lives. After a nine year absence, Cook returns to the role in November.



2011: Crystal Chappell aired for the last time as Carly Manning in Days of our Lives.
