Daytime Emmy Awards Live-Streaming Red Carpet and Backstage Interviews

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) is teaming with the live-streaming channel, Parachute TV, to bring Daytime Emmy Awards red carpet coverage to fans as well as backstage access. According to The Wrap, winners will interact with fans directly via the Periscope app as soon as they exit the stage.

“Awards shows are doing an incredible job with live-streaming apps like Periscope and Facebook Live,” said Parachute TV co-founder Caroline Lesley, who will also co-host the event on Periscope. “And giving fans a chance to interact with their favorite celebrities backstage is another great step forward.”

The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards (part of The Daytime Emmy Awards) recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. during the 2015 calendar year.

The recent Indie Series Awards also featured similar behind-the-scenes footage, with an "official" team of Periscopers sharing videos throughout the night. The ISAs ceremony and red carpet were also streamed to fans around the world on AfterBuzz TV. Unfortunately, a live-stream partner for the Daytime Emmys has not yet been announced, and there's an increasing chance fans will not be able to watch.

The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards are being held Sunday, May 1, with the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Friday, April 29. Parachute TV will be providing red carpet coverage and backstage access for both ceremonies.
