1948: Radio soap opera The Guiding Light, still almost four years away from making its way to television, introduced the character of Friedrich "Papa" Bauer. Theodore von Eltz originated the role and was replaced by Theo Goetz a year later. Goetz would remain with the show until his death in 1972.
1960: On The Secret Storm, Myra Lake Ames (June Graham) visited Grace Harris Tyrell (Marjorie Gateson), who had something to say about everyone.
1966: On Days of our Lives, Susan (Denise Alexander) already regretted her month-old marriage to David Martin (Clive Clerk), who was still in love with Julie (Charla Doherty). Julie turned to her grandfather Tom Horton (Macdonald Carey) and asked him to help her stay in Salem rather than live with her parents, Ben and Addie, in Europe.

1967: Regina Gleason debuted as Kitty Horton on Days of our Lives.
1981: On The Edge of Night, Gunther (David Froman) told Sky Whitney (Larkin Malloy) that he changed the bullets in Gavin Wylie's (Mark Arnold) gun, then showed him how the scam would work with fake blood.
1982: On Texas, T.J. Canfield (David Forsyth) urged Ashley Linden Marshall (Pamela Long) to tell her husband, Justin (Jerry Lanning), about her pregnancy.
1983: On All My Children, Tad Martin (Michael E. Knight) and Marian Colby (Jennifer Bassey) began an affair behind Liza's (Marcy Walker) back.

1984: On Guiding Light, returning from a trip to Tulsa, H.B. Lewis (Larry Gates) was thrilled to see his paralyzed son, Joshua (Robert Newman), was now able to stand up.
1984: On Santa Barbara, Santana Andrade (Ava Lazar) was bit by a rattlesnake. She was rescued by C.C. Capwell (Peter Mark Richman).
1989: On Another World, Josie Watts (Alexandra Wilson) moved into the Matthews home, much to chagrin of her Aunt Liz Matthews (Irene Dailey) chagrin. Meanwhile, Vicky Hudson (Anne Heche) was not happy to see Jake McKinnon (Tom Eplin) at at her mother's (Anna Stuart) apartment.
1991: Coronation Street and Doctor Who writer Gerry Davis passed away at age 61.
1994: On All My Children, Jackson Montgomery (Walt Willey) helped Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) file an accident report after "that maniac" Dimitri Marick (Michael Nader) "rammed" into the front of her car.
1995: On General Hospital, Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) asked Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to honor his word about ending his partnership with her husband, Luke (Anthony Geary). Later, Luke became angry when he learned Laura went to Sonny.
2010: On As the World Turns, the Hughes family said goodbye to Nancy (Helen Wagner).
