The process used to determine those chosen as Pre-Nominated performers follows:
An online judging ballot containing all entrants in each of four performer categories (Lead Actor and Actress and Supporting Actor and Actress) was sent to all registered, eligible peer judges. The ballot contained a randomized order of performers in each category, regardless of their show affiliation. Judges were required to view clips online containing the work of each performer entry before selecting their top 10 performer choices in each category. Please note that there are 11 Lead Actors and 11 Supporting Actresses due to exact ties in the voting.
Ballots were submitted directly to Lutz & Carr, an independent accounting firm, who tabulated the results. The candidates below who received the highest number of votes now advance to the blue ribbon screening round, scheduled to begin on February 24, 2015, which will determine both nominees and recipients. Please note that this release also contains the names of the Entrants for Younger Actor and Actress, who will proceed directly to the Blue Ribbon Round. All nominations will be announced on Thursday, March 26th.
Must be an oversight since Kelly Monaco's name should be there
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteNo Rena Sofer, Nicolas Bechtel (why is there a Younger category if it's not mean to honor kids like him) and a few others I expected.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, leading actors submitted themselves in the supporting category for whatever reason, playing games with the Emmy system. It's allowed but goes against what should be the spirit of the awards.
Peggy McCay isn't really a lead on DAYS but her speech during the Will & Sonny wedding was Emmy worthy.
Ugh. So many undeserving names listed.
ReplyDeleteWhere are Sharon Case, Lauren Koslow, Rebecca Herbst, Vinessa Antoine and Kate Mansi?
I agree with Roger about Rena Sofer.
Marc Anthony Samuel was phenomenal in his scenes where he learns Milo doesn't have a crush on him and that the menage a toi with Lucas and Brad was not for him.
The actresses who play Faith on Y&R should be nominated for younger actress.
Oh, and Karla Mosley should be nominated.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot Jen Lilley and apparently I wasn't the only one ;-). She has been a revelation as Theresa Donovan on DAYS. Also, Mischael Morgan, Hilary on Y&R deserved a pre-nomination.
DeleteTony Geary is a shoe-in for his eighth win. Not only do I think he gave, gave, gave all year, but when you add in the dual role (catnip for Emmy voters) and his painful recovery from back surgery, I don't see how he can lose.
ReplyDeleteNicholas Bechtel is a gem and should be rewarded for the work he does far above his contemporaries the same age.
I agree with everyone. Tony will win for sure. The fact that Karla Mosley and Rena Sofer and not nominated is shocking. and Nicholas Bechtel is one of my favorite young actors and he should be nominated.
