Ridge Forrester (played by Thorsten Kaye since December) and "Dollar" Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) have never been the best of friends, but their animosity reached a new level this week.Ridge returned to Los Angeles in December, supposedly to reunite with his true love, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang). When he found out about Brooke's affair with Bill, he couldn't accept it and turned to Brooke's younger sister, Katie (Heather Tom), for comfort. The two of them fell in love and recently became engaged. Ridge told his ex, Brooke, that he was a new man and that he truly loved Katie. But when Brooke revealed that she and Bill were also going to get married, Ridge did not take it well. He literally ripped the engagement ring off Brooke's finger!
Brooke: Ridge, please. Just give me my ring back.
Ridge: You can't do this. You can't marry spencer.
Brooke: That is not up to you.
Ridge: Of course it's up to me. It's our son! I don't want Spencer influencing him or -- or you. Come on. You deserve better. I can't let you go.
Ridge then went straight to Bill's office to return the ring and make it clear Bill was not going to marry Brooke.
Bill: Well, at least you let her keep her finger."Dollar" Bill is one of the more obnoxious characters on television, it's part of his charm. But Ridge's behavior this week has taken being obnoxious to a whole new level. Fans seem to love them both since Diamont and Kaye regularly appear at the top of our weekly Favorite Actor polls.
Ridge: You're not marrying Brooke.
Bill: What'd you do? Did you drug her? 'Cause I know she didn't give this to you voluntarily.
Ridge: Brooke gets confused sometimes. She makes bad decisions. And hey, I may not be her husband anymore, but I will always make sure she gets back on track.
Bill: Poor Katie.
I have come to appreciate Brooke and Bill's relationship more in recent weeks and, if I wasn't rooting for them before, I certainly am now after Ridge's latest actions. At the very least I'm rooting against Ridge.

ReplyDeleteI love $ Bill! I have always loved him because he never pretends to be anything but a chauvinistic, wanton, self-centered pig. Ridge on the other hand pretends that he is completely noble despite being a chauvinistic, wanton, self-centered pig!
I loved the face-off and thought the scene was really good. I have never been a fan of Thorsten Kaye from OLTL, PC, and AMC but much to my surprise I like him as Ridge! TC fits quite nicely in the role. I do hate the character because he is such a smug narcissistic. I still don't understand why he left Brooke over a text message and never returned when Stephanie was gravely ill! Yet, he returns to L.A., rekindles his romance with Brooke to promptly leave her for Katie. And he still justifies his behavior! I just can't root for Ridge as their is nothing rootable in the character.
Also, for the record, I think the Ridge/Katie relationship has been so rushed and accelerated, it's hard to root for the couple.
Team Bill. I am not a Ridge fan.

ReplyDeleteThe character has been this way for years. Brooke isn't worthy of him but if she decides to be happy with someone else Ridge goes after her and try to make her fall for him again.
Bill can be an a-hole. No doubt. But at least he doesn't think of himself like he's the hero.

ReplyDeleteI like.Brooke and Bill,but not Ridge And Katie he seems to old for her.how can she not want bill and brooke when she pushed them together but now she cant rebuild her relationship wirh her sister if she married to bill but wants brooke to except her and ridge.come on katie really.i think Brooke and ridge belong together in the end .katie is dull with ridge and also with bill.
