Zombie Comedy 'Acting Dead' Premieres on JTS.TV

Following a star-studded premiere on Monday night, the much anticipated zombie comedy web series Acting Dead launched its pilot episode today on JTS.TV, the first of a ten week roll out schedule.

Acting Dead stars Brian Beacock (Mulholland Dr.) as Tate Blodgett, a down on his luck, unemployed actor, who after being turned down for role after role, decides to take his career into his own hands, and becomes a zombie, simply so he can finally get work in the many Zombie movies and television shows. Along the way, he meets Alex Carboneux portrayed by Jillian Clare (IFC's Alien Abduction, Days of our Lives), a former child star who's temper has stalled her career, until she also decides to take matters in her own hands, which doesn't turn out so well either.

"I'm really excited about the launch of Acting Dead," said creator and star Brian Beacock. "For me, zombies and Hollywood always seemed like a perfect fit. I'm so proud of our entire Acting Dead cast and crew and I think we've got a really amazing and funny show on our cold, dead hands."

Plans are in place to release the first half of the season beginning today, and each Tuesday thereafter, then take a two week break from the actual show, but continue the Tuesday release schedule with two surprise episodes (you have to wait to find out what those are). The back four episodes of the series will follow with the Season One finale set for June 24th.

Besides series leads Beacock and Clare, the zomedy boasts a stellar collection of talent including series regulars Chris Galya (Disney's Jessie), Patrika Darbo (Days of our Lives), Paul Nygro and John Yelvington. Guest stars include Debbie Gibson, soap veterans Eric Martsolf (Days of our Lives), Carolyn Hennesy (General Hospital), Sean Kanan (The Bold and the Beautiful), John J. York (General Hospital) and Jacee Jule (Miss Behave), plus Cocoa Brown, Christine Lakin, Lori Alan, Erin Matthews, Gary and Larry Lane, Peter Allen Vogt, Sheila Sheila and Mitch Silpa.
