Emmy Award-winning comedian, host, and actor Rosie O'Donnell will return to guest star on ABC Family's hit drama series The Fosters. O'Donnell reprises her role as Rita Henricks, a tough yet compassionate woman who works in the foster care system and grows close to Callie (Maia Mitchell). She will appear in two episodes to air in August.
The Fosters is a compelling, one-hour drama about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms. The second season of The Fosters premieres on Monday, June 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
Winner of 2014's GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Drama Series and 2013's Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Breakout Show, The Fosters is executive-produced by Jennifer Lopez, (American Idol, What to Expect When You're Expecting, The Back-Up Plan) and created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige (Queer As Folk), who also serve as executive producers and writers, along with Joanna Johnson (The Bold and the Beautiful).
The Fosters stars Teri Polo as Stef Adams Foster, Sherri Saum as Lena Adams Foster, Jake T. Austin as Jesus Adams Foster, Hayden Byerly as Jude Adams Foster, David Lambert as Brandon Adams Foster, Maia Mitchell as Callie Jacob, Danny Nucci as Mike Foster and Cierra Ramirez as Mariana Adams Foster. Greg Gugliotta, Elaine Goldsmith Thomas, Benny Medina, and John Ziffren also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Nuyorican Productions, Inc., and Prodco, Inc.
