On this date in...

1964: On ANOTHER WORLD, Mary Matthews expressed concern to husband Jim over the relationship between Tom Baxter and their daughter Pat -- a relationship that Mary sensed was falling apart; Pat arrived home looking exhausted, and Mary told Jim she thought Pat had been overworking herself since her recent recovery from illness; Laura Baxter, already distraught over Ken's request for a divorce, was further stricken when Ken returned home to inform her that Tom had been killed; and Sergeant Adams arrived at the Matthews house to question Pat about Tom's shooting.

1965: On DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Ben and Addie tried to understand Julie's actions.

1977: On GUIDING LIGHT, the elevator system at Cedars Hospital went down. Nurses, including Rita Stapleton (Lenore Kasdorf) and Katie Parker (Denise Pence), took the stairs at the end of their shift. Unknown to them, Georgene Granger (Delphi Harrington) took her place on the stairwell & shoved Rita forward. In slow motion, Rita fell down the stairs; Katie tried to break her fall, but failed.

  1. Its nice to get to see Maree Cheatham work as Marie Horton. I only knew her growing up as Stephanie Wyatt from Search For Tomorrow and later Charlene Simpson from General Hospital.

  2. Grant Cramer also played "Adam Hunter" on Y&R, one of several actors who's had more than one role on the show. This was around 1996. Adam, another chemist at Jabot, was to be a love interest for Ashley Abbott, then being played by Shari Shattuck. None of it really clicked, and the storyline tossed.
