Kelly Goode has been named Vice President, Original Programming for ABC Family, it was announced today by Kate Juergens, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Development and Chief Creative Officer, ABC Family, to whom she will report. A top executive, Goode joins the network with vast experience in programming, formerly serving as GSN's Head of Programming and most recently working as an in-house executive producer through an overall development deal with GSN.
In her new position, Goode will be responsible for all existing scripted series, including drama and comedy. She will also focus on the important relationship with production teams and facilitate the communication between different productions and all ABC Family departments. As the number of original series on ABC Family has increased dramatically, a dedicated Current team became necessary. Goode will head the Current team, within Juergens programming department. Jennifer Gerstenblatt, Director Programming; Kelly Garrett and Danielle De Jesus, Managers Programming and Julie Katchen, Coordinator Programming, will report directly to Goode.
This summer ABC Family launched five new series, along with four returning hit series, and to date is the #1 cable TV network in Prime in Women 18-34 and #2 network in female Millennials. Critical and social media darling "Pretty Little Liars" is pacing as cable TV's #1 series across in Women 18-34, Viewers 12-34 and Females 12-34, while newcomers "Twisted" and "The Fosters" are the top 2 new cable TV series in Females 12-34.
