Suzanne Rogers Celebrates 40 Years on DAYS OF OUR LIVES
"When I was doing my screen test, Susan Flannery [then playing Laura] walked through the control booth and said to the producers, 'Well, if you don't pick her for the part, y'all are crazy!' And then she walked out the other door. [Laughs] Don't you love it? Maggie was such a wonderful character and really different for daytime. Her parents were killed in an auto accident and she was in the back seat and suffered a really severe back injury. They didn't want me in a wheelchair because everyone would have to sit down to do scenes with me, so I spent my first two and a half years of the show on crutches, until Maggie had miracle surgery."

Former Y&R actress Victoria Rowell Visits Macon to Encourage Foster Parenting
"I'm one of six children, all of different paternity, my mother had no prenatal care, she did not have the support of her family," Rowell said, "My experience is certainly the cornerstone of my strength. I attempt to bring a message of hope."

Ways With Words 2013: Why THE ARCHERS is like EASTENDERS
There are more similarities between characters in EASTENDERS and THE ARCHERS than the radio show's fans like to admit, a former editor has claimed, because each has “Dickensian” characters with exaggerated traits.

“It’s Dickensian – you take one aspect of a character and you enlarge it and very slightly you heighten it," said John Yorke, who has worked on both soaps.

“What fascinates me is how often the key to a character is in conflicts. At the heart of every great character, all the way from Antigone [in Greek mythology] to the modern day, is a character riven with contrary impulses. It kind of works like an engine in which that conflict, that neurosis, is resolved.”

Twitter Debuts Ad Targeting Based on Email Addresses and Cookies
While the cookies-based retargeting might be new to Twitter, the idea certainly isn't ground-breaking among digital advertising players. On the other hand, targeting social ads based on email lists seems like a new frontier that could get privacy hawks chirping.
