On this date in...

1965: On ANOTHER WORLD, Jim (Shepperd Strudwick) walked Pat (Susan Trustman) down the aisle for her wedding to John (Michael M. Ryan).

1968: On DARK SHADOWS, Victoria (Alexandra Moltke) entered the door to the old house in her dream and found an apparently dead Barnabas (Jonathan Frid) on the floor.

1970: Doug (Bill Hayes) and Julie (Susan Seaforth) shared their first kiss on DAYS OF OUR LIVES.



1976: On DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Marlena (Deidre Hall) met her future husband, Don Craig (Jed Allan).



1986: On SANTA BARBARA, Julia (Nancy Lee Grahn) tried to escape from David (Brian Matthews).  Matthews retired from acting in 1990 and became a licensed marriage and family therapist. In 2012 he ran as a Republican in the U.S. House District 25 primary race in Texas but only received 3.54% of the vote (U.S. Rep. Roger Williams ultimately won that seat).



1999: On ANOTHER WORLD, Cass (Stephen Schnetzer) and Felicia (Linda Dano) encountered a gorilla named Carolyn.



2006: Legendary producer Aaron Spelling died at age 83. The many shows he served as executive producer for included DYNASTY, THE COLBYS, CHARLIE'S ANGELS, 7TH HEAVEN, TITANS, MELROSE PLACE, BEVERLY HILLS 90210, SAVANNAH, MODELS INC. and SUNSET BEACH.

2010: The cast and crew of AS THE WORLD TURNS taped the show's final episode after a more than 54 year run on CBS.

2012: The 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were broadcast on HLN. Winners included GENERAL HOSPITAL (Drama Series), Anthony Geary, Heather Tom, Jonathan Jackson, Nancy Lee Grahn, Chandler Massey and Christel Khalil.
