ReplyDeleteI can't imagine a network, a producer, or any writer today who would dare to write their lead female as such a bad parent. Raven later atoned for her sins, and the departures of April and Draper made it necessary to move her from villain to lead, but that is one ballsy soap move - especially when they were courting moms not teens at the time?
Also, speaking of Harding Lemay, I found humor in the different portrayals of Irna Phillips in the LeMay vs. Bell memoirs. Both make her seem like an absolute pain but Bell was obviously the good son to LeMay's bad son.
