First-Ever PREMIOS TU MUNDO Watched By More Than 1.6 Million

Telemundo Media announced today that its first-ever PREMIOS TU MUNDO (Your World Awards) awards show, which aired last night at 9pm ET, was watched by 1.68 million total viewers (persons 2+) and 912,000 adults 18-49, according to Nielsen. The pre-show special at 8pm, “Alfombra de Premios Tu Mundo,” was seen by 1.4 million total viewers and 708,000 adults 18-49. Hosted by telenovela superstars Gaby Espino and Rafael Amaya and featuring top music performers Jencarlos Canela among others, the awards show telecast increased the time period performance among total viewers and adults 18-49 by +24% and +27%, respectively, over the prior four-week Thursday time period average. Cumulatively, the awards show reached 4.06 million total viewers, of which 2.26 million were adults 18-49.

In Miami and New York, the awards show ranked #1 across all stations in the market, regardless of language, among total viewers and adults 18-49. Additionally, PREMIOS TU MUNDO was #1 among households in Miami across all Spanish or English language stations in the market.

Digitally, from the date of the launch of www.premiostumundo.com through last night’s broadcast of the awards show, the PREMIOS TU MUNDO website received 12.7 million page views and 584,000 visits. PREMIOS TU MUNDO also generated 504,925 interactions across social media platforms last night and totaled 163 million social media impressions for the night. A first in Spanish-language television, viewers were asked to tweet to support their favorite celebrity of the night using the #premiostumundo hashtag on Twitter during the award show.

PREMIOS TU MUNDO is a musical spectacular event that celebrates pop culture and combines the power of television, web, mobile and social media platforms to give fans the final say in what’s hot in everything that moves and inspires them, including novelas, music, fashion, movies and sports. Nominees for the 2012 “Premios Tu Mundo” were selected from May 2011 through May 2012 by a panel of industry professionals. Fans from all over the country submitted nearly five million votes online at www.premiostumundo.com and through Telemundo's entertainment iPhone App among 25 categories.
