Richard D. Zanuck Dead at 77

Richard D. Zanuck, who grew up as the son of a Darryl F. Zanuck, the longtime head of the 20th Century-Fox studio and an original Hollywood tycoon, died on July 13 at his home in Beverly Hills after a heart attack. He was 77.

He became the youngest movie studio chief in history and an acclaimed film producer in his own right with such hits as Jaws, The Sting, Driving Miss Daisy and, most recently, Dark Shadows.

His publicist, Jeff Sanderson, announced his death.
