Sunday Night Ratings: THE GOOD WIFE Steady, GCB Down

The Sunday night Nielsen ratings are starting to come in. CBS was helped by the overrun of The Masters golf tournament (Bubba Watson won). ABC tried GCB out in an earlier time slot. Below is a roundup of the April 8 ratings reports we have so far.

From ABC:
"GCB" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
Vaulting over its lead-in by 67% in Adults 18-49, ABC's "GCB" moved up to tie CBS' highly promoted series debut of "NYC 22" (1.5/4), as the new CBS drama dropped -17% from its lead-in coming out of "The Good Wife." Exhibiting a much younger skew, ABC's "GCB" defeated "NYC 22" by 57% in Adults 18-34 (1.1/3 vs. 0.7/2).

From CBS:
THE GOOD WIFE was first in households (6.5/10), viewers (9.99m), adults 25-54 (2.6/06) and averaged a 1.8/04 in adults 18-49. Compared to the last first-run episode (on March 25), THE GOOD WIFE was even in adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and added +220,000 viewers (from 9.77m, +2%).

The series premiere of NYC 22 (P) was first in households (5.7/09) and viewers (8.90m), second in adults 25-54 (2.2/05) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (1.5/04).

For the night, CBS was first in households (6.2/10), viewers (9.71m), adults 25-54 (2.6/06) and adults 18-49 (1.8/05) – sweeping the night for the fifth consecutive Sunday.

GAME OF THRONES again easily led Sunday cable with adults 18-49 -- but its its 1.8 rating was down only a tenth again this week after sliding by the same amount last week.
