Monday's GENERAL HOSPITAL featured a new shorter opening sequence. It quickly shows (in this order) Maurice Benard, Kelly Sullivan, Dominic Zamprogna, Julie Marie Berman, Bradford Anderson, Brandon Barash, Laura Wright, Rebecca Herbst, Jason Thompson, Steve Burton, Kelly Monaco, Lisa LoCicero and Anthony Geary. According to Nancy Lee Grahn on Twitter "the openings will change daily."

Tuesday's opening featured 13 actors again: (in order) Steve Burton, Kelly Monaco, Laura Wright, Brandon Barash, Bradford Anderson, Maurice Benard, Kelly Sullivan, Lisa LoCicero, Chad Duell, Scott Reeves, Rebecca Herbst, Nancy Lee Grahn and Anthony Geary.
Wow...what a mess! The music didn't seem to fit at all, the credits went by way too fast, not everyone was in the opening credits, and no mid-show bumpers. The credits before worked....whatever that was today, didn't.

ReplyDeleteCompletely agreed Sandy!!! The music did not at all fit the credits or the feel of the show. It is such a bad choice.

ReplyDeleteThey need something completely new. Don't mind it being quick, but... not this.
Maybe something mashing up the old (ambulance) with the new (faces and names) with a twist on the theme we all associate with the show (Faces of the Heart).
That music is awful, the images are synced right to the beat. I hope this is a work in progress. It looks like an amateur made it.

ReplyDeleteHow dare they mess with theme, which was taken from Faces from the Heart, which taken from the original from Jack Urbont. Not even Gloria Monty would do this.

ReplyDeleteI hope this is a work in progress. Making the sequence whiplash fast won't make up for the bad video quality or cheesy local news anchor-style posing. They should go back to a sequence similar to the old one from the 70s with the ambulance going through the gates.
ReplyDeleteSide note: fans should be a little more patient with the changes and recognize that they're being done to keep the show on the air.
Actually while i agree the music really didn't seem to fit I don't mind the change it gives us a bit more air time and if it does change on a daily bases then I am even more in favor of it.
ReplyDeleteActually if it going to change daily I really have no issue with it. I will take the 44 secs it give to the show instead of credits.
ReplyDeleteHorrible opening credits. I really really really did not like it at all. I have been watching GH for over 15 years now, and those opening credits give me the heebee jeebees! Change it back to the last one...or the ones from 2007.
