PREVIEW: ABC Family Tuesday Night Soaps SWITCHED AT BIRTH & JANE BY DESIGN

The Year of the Soap continues on ABC Family with new episodes of SWITCHED AT BIRTH and JANE BY DESIGN on Tuesday, January 24.

SWITCHED leads off the night at 8 p.m. ET/PT with “Les Soeurs d’Estrees.” Daphne and Bay try to raise money to save Emmett from losing his motorcycle, and John reveals something to Angelo that might put his business partnership with Regina at risk.

Daphne is desperate to help Emmett keep his motorcycle, and ends up lying to John and Kathryn to get the money. Meanwhile, Melody tells Bay to stay away from Emmett. The Kennish’s interview potential new attorneys to work on their case against the hospital and despite Daphne’s reservations, Regina agrees to go into business with Angelo. But, will John’s revelation to Angelo tear his business relationship apart from Regina, or bring them closer together?

SWITCHED AT BIRTH stars Katie Leclerc, Vanessa Marano, Constance Marie, D.W. Moffett, Lea Thompson, Lucas Grabeel and Sean Berdy.

Academy Award winner Marlee Matlin guest stars as Melody Bledsoe, Gilles Marini as Angelo and Maiara Walsh as Simone.

JANE BY DESIGN follows at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Jane doesn’t react well to Billy’s secret, while the Donovan Decker offices batten down the hatches for a top fashion editor’s visit in “The Finger Bowl.”

Now that Billy and Lulu have decided to take their relationship public, Billy must tell Jane. Feeling betrayed and lied to, Jane doesn’t take the news of the high school’s new “It” couple well. But now with the news out there and neither group of friends seeming very supportive of it, can Billy and Lulu withstand the peer pressure? And has Jane truly lost her one true ally in the social shark tank that is high school?

Meanwhile, Jeremy and Jane are given the impossible task to present the new fashion line to top fashion magazine editor Miyoko Sato and make a good impression when she visits the Donovan Decker offices.

JANE BY DESIGN is executive produced by Gavin Polone, April Blair and John Ziffren. The series stars Erica Dasher, David Rogers, Nicholas Roux, Rowly Dennis, India De Beaufort, Meagan Tandy, Matthew Atkinson, and featuring Andie MacDowell.

  1. I've really been enjoying "Switched at Birth." It has a lot of flaws, but I like Daphne, Regina, Emmett, and even Bay, as she starts to grow a bit out of her spoiled nature. I never thought I'd dislike Lea Thompson in anything, though. I find the Kennish parents to be the weak link in this story. They are caricatures to the point of being offensive.
