PREVIEW: CW's Thursday Night Soaps THE VAMPIRE DIARIES & THE SECRET CIRCLE

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES "The Hybrid" (Season 3 Episode 2) airs Thursday September, 22 8:00 p.m. on The CW.

Klaus (Joseph Morgan) puts a plan in motion that will give him even more power, but even with the unwilling participation of werewolf Ray Sutton (guest star David Gallagher), things don’t go exactly as Klaus had planned. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Alaric (Matt Davis) reluctantly go along with Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) new strategy to find Stefan (Paul Wesley), leading Damon into a dangerous fight with an unexpected enemy.

Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) turns to Matt (Zach Roerig) for help as he continues to try to understand what the ghosts from his past want from him. Unaware that Caroline (Candice Accola) is in need of his help, Tyler (Michael Trevino) faces an emotional confrontation with his mother (guest star Susan Walters).

Josh Butler directed the episode written by Al Septien & Turi Meyer.



THE SECRET CIRCLE “Bound” (Episode 2) airs Thursday, September 22 at 9 p.m. ET.

Cassie befriends Sally Matthews, a non-witch, in attempt to distance herself from the Circle and build a normal life in Chance Harbor. Diana, worried that their powers are getting out of control, encourages everyone to bind the circle. However, Faye is enjoying the increased powers and refuses to participate, and Melissa flirts with Nick despite Faye’s warnings. Adam struggles with his feeling for Cassie, but situations continue to throw them together, which forces Cassie to make a decision.

The series stars Britt Robertson as Cassie Blake, Thomas Dekker as Adam Conant, Gale Harold as Charles Meade, Phoebe Tonkin as Fay Chamberlain, Jessica Parker Kennedy as Melissa, Shelley Hennig as Diana Meade, Louis Hunter as Nick, Ashley Crow as Jane Blake and Natasha Henstridge as Dawn Chamberlain.
